Meadow Creek Sewer Extension

MEADOW CREEK

UPDATED: September 25, 2025

STATUS: Active

OVERVIEW

Upper Uwchlan Township Municipal Authority (UUTMA) has a multi-year plan to install a public sewerage system throughout our community at-large. For the Meadow Creek neighborhood, each home will be converted from their septic system to the public sewer system. UUTMA will pay for all planned costs of services and materials.

To be clear:

1) As planned, homeowners will not pay for any cost of this sewage transition project. Should a homeowner elect to hire a plumber to move the current septic drain pipe inside the home to a different location, the homeowner is responsible for the cost of that service.

2) Every home in the Meadow Creek neighborhood will have a grinder pump system installed.

3) Homeowners must connect to the new sewage system as planned – there is no option to remain on the septic system or to delay the connection.

4) Homeowners will not be required to submit an “Application for Sewer Connection Permit - Residential” form

The key steps of this project are:

1. UUTMA will decommission and replace the existing Meadow Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (MC-WWTP) at the corner of Styer Rd and Meadow Creek Rd with a new Meadow Creek Pump Station to collect the sewage from all homes in the neighborhood.

2. UUTMA will install a low-pressure sewer force main in the Meadow Creek neighborhood streets, a low-pressure lateral pipe (i.e., sewer feeder line) from the sewer force main to an exterior area of each home, a sewage grinder pump system near the home and then make the connection to the home’s sewage drain pipe.

3. After successful testing, UUTMA will decommission the homeowner’s septic system and tank to prevent its further use. Neither the septic system nor tank will be removed – just disabled.

4. UUTMA will pave all street trenches (not the entire streets) and restore each yard at the completion of the sewer system.

5. When the transition of your sewage system is finished, UUT will issue a quarterly public sewage bill, currently $190 (link) or the then current rate.

6. UUTMA’s contractor will coordinate all onsite activities with the homeowners.
