The Upper Uwchlan Township Police Department affords the young people of our community, ages 12 - 15, an opportunity to experience Law Enforcement firsthand. Students learn the basic functions of a Police Department as well as have a chance to observe other Emergency Services.
The Academy is typically held for 3-4 days in June at the Upper Uwchlan Township Police Department which is located at 140 Pottstown Pike, Chester Springs. Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. There is no cost to attend the Academy. Snacks and lunch are provided every day. Some of the activities students will be involved in is:
- Police Patrol Vehicles
- Canine Demonstration
- Crime Scene Processing
- Fire, Rescue and EMS Display
- SWAT Display Chester County ERT
- Court Room Visit, District Court 15-2-07
- Visit to Chester County Department of Emergency Services
- Visit to Chester County’s Public Safety Campus & Village
The Academy closes with a Luncheon and Graduation Ceremony on the last day. The families of the graduates are invited to attend.
