A Vision for Trails
The development of community trails has been part of Upper Uwchlan Township’s recreation and planning policy since the adoption of the Open Space, Recreation and Environmental Resource Plan in 1992. The Trail Network Master Plan, developed in 2005, outlines the conceptual vision and construction cost estimates for community trails in Upper Uwchlan. These include paved multi-use trails, side paths and sidewalks, signed walking streets and bike routes, hiking trails, and bike lanes.
Though some of the specifics of these trail plans may change, the vision remains: a trail system in Upper Uwchlan will allow residents to walk, run, or bike around our entire township safely using our trail system. Beyond our borders, trails can connect us with neighboring townships and town centers, as well as the trails throughout Marsh Creek State Park. The result is miles and miles of trails – for recreation, for exercise, and for transportation.
