In order to become fully compliant with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) Clean Air Laws, Upper Uwchlan Township has amended its outdoor burning ordinance. Effective August 23, 2014, the burning of recyclable and/or compostable materials, i.e. "yard waste," bushes, trees, shrubs, etc. is now prohibited. Burn permits will no longer be issued. Fires for the purposes of fellowship, cooking, and ceremonial reasons are still permissible and do not require a permit. Thank you in advance for your expected cooperation, it is much appreciated.
