NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Notice is hereby given that the Upper Uwchlan Township Board of Supervisors is soliciting bids for the INSTALLATION OF EPOXY FLOOR COATING for the Public Works Facility.


Bids must be submitted no later than 11:00 AM Thursday, March 17, 2011 in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the outside “Proposal for Epoxy Floor Coating” to:   Township Manager, Upper Uwchlan Township Office, 140 Pottstown Pike, Chester Springs, PA 19425. 

All bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or deposit in the form of a certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid price.   Bids received will be publicly opened and read at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the Upper Uwchlan Township Office.  The Board of Supervisors will award the bid for this contract at their March 21, 2011 meeting or subsequent meeting as determined to be in the best interest of Upper Uwchlan Township.

The successful bidder shall provide a Performance Bond in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the bid.  A Certified Check in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the bid may be submitted in lieu of a Performance Bond.  Upon termination of the contract, said check amount will be returned to the successful bidder.


Scope of Work includes: 


Preparation of existing concrete floor - approximately 4,830 sq ft - using mechanical (diamond abrasive grinding or shot blasting, using dust dampened equipment) or chemical (acid etching) application; sealing of cracks; application of a moisture-tolerant primer; application of 100% solid epoxy body coat, minimum thickness 15 mils, and 100% solid top coat -- the texture shall be a non-slip finish. 

Body coat and top coat may be of color -- color will be specified on purchase order.  Floor finish shall be resistant to chemicals (battery acid, oils) and to temperature variations.  The finished product shall be warranted to be properly installed and free of defects for one (1) year. 

Bidder will indicate the number of days required to complete the project start to finish. Work is to begin within 15 days of successful bidder receiving Notice of Award.  The Township will provide clear uninterrupted access to the work area during the installation.
