New Trash and Recycling Hauler Contracts

This week, new trash and recycling hauler contracts took effect in Upper Uwchlan Township. Solid waste (trash) and yard waste are collected by Advanced Disposal. Recyclables are collected by A.J. Blosenski. All trash/recycling customers were notified of this by mail. Neither the pickup zones nor the collection dates have changed.

The Township is working with the teams from A.J. Blosenski and Advanced Disposal to make this transition as seamless as possible for our residents. Please carefully review the following reminders.

Put Toters Curbside the Night Before

The crews from Advanced Disposal encountered a large number of homes and neighborhoods where the Toters were not out.

Advanced Disposal is not running a route identical to that of the previous hauler. The trash truck might arrive earlier or later than you are used to. To guarantee collection, Toters MUST be placed curbside the night before your scheduled collection.

If your Toter is not curbside when the truck arrives,
your materials will not be collected.

Prepare Materials Correctly

RECYCLING: Many paper, plastic, and metal materials are recyclable – but some aren’t! Review the Township’s Recycle Right flyer for details about which items are acceptable. Plastic bags are NOT accepted; Place materials directly in the bin.

YARD WASTE: Yard waste must be in open containers or biodegradable paper bags. Do not use your UUT Toters for yard waste. Don’t overload bags or bins, and do not fill bins or bags with wet material or dirt.

If your materials are not prepared correctly, the hauler will not collect them, and will mark the items or bins with an orange non-collection sticker.

Toters must be placed at least 3 feet apart.

Place Toters Away from Obstacles

Both haulers use an automated truck to collect waste. To facilitate collection, Toters must be placed at least 3 feet apart and away from mailboxes, cars, and obstacles.
